Practical AI governance guidance for project managers, SMBs, and consultants.
AI adoption is accelerating. Governance guidance hasn’t kept up — at least not for the teams that actually need it.
Most AI governance resources are written for large enterprises with dedicated compliance teams, legal departments, and six-figure consulting budgets. If you’re a project manager implementing AI, a growing business navigating new regulations, or an independent consultant advising clients, you’ve been left to figure it out on your own.
AIPMO was built to close that gap.
Why AIPMO exists
AI governance isn’t only a compliance problem. It’s a project management challenge. Scope, stakeholders, risk, timelines, deliverables, acceptance criteria — the disciplines PMs use every day are exactly what responsible AI adoption requires. The frameworks that matter (NIST AI RMF, the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, OECD AI Principles, and dozens more) assume a reader who knows the regulations. Most PMs don’t. Most SMBs can’t afford to hire someone who does. That mismatch is where projects quietly go wrong.
AIPMO translates AI governance into the language PMs already speak — deliverables, gate criteria, risk register entries, charter sections — and grounds every answer in the actual text of real frameworks.
Who AIPMO is for
AIPMO serves three audiences who share one problem: they need to govern AI, but the existing resources weren’t built for them.
Project managers implementing AI on live projects, working inside organizations that haven’t yet formalized AI governance. Small and mid-sized businesses that need to meet regulatory obligations without a compliance department. Independent consultants advising multiple clients who need governance tooling that scales across engagements without separate tooling for each one.
The global regulatory lens matters here. AIPMO treats the EU AI Act, UK FCA guidance, Canadian AIDA, Australian standards, Singapore IMDA, and US federal and state frameworks as co-equal governance environments. Not footnotes to a US-primary story.
What AIPMO provides
Everything on the platform is designed to be used on real projects, not filed away for reference. The Advisor answers AI governance questions with citations pulled directly from 70+ real AI governance sources — no fabricated citations, no generic AI output. It adapts to your project’s context: AI system type, risk level, deployment stage, and regulatory environment.
Professional members get AI-customized governance documents across 15 document types, from project charters to decommissioning plans. Each one is pre-populated with your organization’s context and grounded in the frameworks that apply to your industry. You can also upload your own documents for gap analysis against real standards — useful when inheriting governance from a team that didn’t have these frameworks available.
Free fillable templates cover the core governance artifacts — charters, impact assessments, risk registers, monitoring plans, bias and fairness assessments. Any registered member can download them. No paywall on the foundations.
In-depth articles cover every major framework, the regulatory landscape by jurisdiction, and industry-specific governance across Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, and Government. Free to read, updated as frameworks evolve.
Membership
Three tiers, designed to match how people actually adopt the platform.
Essential is free — five Advisor questions per day, full access to templates and articles. It’s enough to validate whether AIPMO fits your work before committing.
Professional ($20/month) unlocks unlimited Advisor use, AI-customized document generation across all 15 document types, and project context tailoring. For PMs managing live AI projects.
Consultant ($45/month) adds multi-organization and multi-project support, separate Advisor context per client, and per-client document libraries. For independent consultants who need clean separation between engagements.
How AIPMO is built
AIPMO is built with AI, and governs its own AI the same way it teaches members to govern theirs. The Advisor and document customizer are powered by Anthropic’s Claude API with retrieval over a curated corpus of AI governance sources; the site itself — articles, templates, code — is developed with AI assistance throughout the workflow. Every Advisor response includes source citations, no user content is used to train AI models, and the corpus is evaluated against a fixed baseline after every ingestion. The AI Transparency page lays out the full picture: what AI does, what data goes where, what safeguards apply, and where the system falls short.
About the founder
AIPMO was founded by a project management practitioner with 20+ years of delivery experience in regulated industries, including insurance. The credential set — AIGP (AI governance), CPMAI (AI project management), PMP, PMI-ACP, and GCP GenAI Leader — reflects the intersection AIPMO occupies: governance knowledge paired with practical delivery discipline. The founder is an active member of PMI, IAPP, and RAPS, and has implemented multiple AI projects firsthand. That hands-on experience is why AIPMO’s outputs are grounded in validated frameworks and built to be genuinely usable, not performative.
